The US-specific points we handle
NIE and documents
You apply for your NIE at the Spanish consulate that covers your state. A power of attorney signed before a US notary needs an apostille from that state's Secretary of State.
US and Spain tax treaty
The income tax treaty between the United States and Spain, updated by the protocol in force since 2019, helps avoid double taxation on salaries, dividends and business profits.
US reporting for owners
US persons who own a foreign company may have US filings, such as Form 5471 and FBAR for foreign bank accounts. We prepare the Spanish figures your US CPA needs.
