What changed after Brexit.

British citizens are now non-EU nationals in Spain. You can still own 100% of a Spanish company, but you need a foreigner identification number (NIE), and documents signed in the UK must be apostilled to be valid in Spain.

Owning a Spanish company does not give you the right to live in Spain. If you plan to move, you need the right visa or residence permit. We can tell you which route fits your plans in your first call.

You can apply for your NIE at a Spanish consulate in the UK. We arrange the appointment and prepare the forms with you.

Apostilled power of attorney

A power of attorney signed before a UK notary needs an apostille from the FCDO Legalisation Office. We tell you exactly what to sign and send.

If the key decisions of your Spanish company are taken in the UK, HMRC may treat it as UK tax resident. We structure management so the company is taxed where you intend.

UK and Spain tax treaty
